Day 01: Paro ai??i?? Jele Dzong (Distance: 7 km. Time: about 4 hours.)
This is a short trekking day. The trail ascends gradually through the forest of chirpine, spruce silver fir etc to the camp at Jele dzong at an altitude of 2,590m. Paro valley with snow-capped mountains in the background can be seen on a clear day.
Day 02: Jele Dzong ai??i?? Jangchulakha (Distance: 13km)
Begin with climb and cross a pass at 3,900m. The trail then takes you through thick temperate forests and rhododendron trees. You may see yak herders around your campsite at an altitude of 3250m.
Day 03: Jangchulakha ai??i?? Jynetsho (Distance 15km, Time: about 6 hours)
The trail follows the ridge. Beautiful views of the mountains and the valley can be seen on a clear day. The trail passes through lake Jimilangtsho. After the lake, the trail ascends till you reach the campsite at lake Jynetsho at an altitude of 3700m. If you are lucky, you might enjoy trout for dinner.
Day 04: Jynetsho ai??i?? Phajoding (Distance 15km and takes about 6 hours)
The trail passes just above the lake Simkota through dwarf rhododendron trees. You might see camps of yak herders en route depending on time of year. The trail continues with a gradual climb with stunning views of the mountains all around. After the pass, you descend to Phajoding Monastery. Overnight in camp above the monastery at an altitude of 3200m
Day 05: Phajoding ai??i?? Thimphu (Distance: 8 km)
The trek to Thimphu is downhill through blue pine forest. Taking it leisurely, you reach hotel in Thimphu (2,300m) in about 2 hours for a hot shower and a nice lunch. Evening at leisure.
